Classes of Service

The New River Train has 5 different types of seating. Listed below are descriptions of each.

Heritage Coach

Heritage Coach Service is seating in a Heritage Coach car built in the 1940's and 1950's which have been restored to their original condition, with an aisle down the center of the car, two seats on either side, and larger picture windows. If your party wishes to sit together, you all must board together. If your friends ordered separately, you MUST tell us before September 1, you want to sit with them. Otherwise there is no guarantee that you will sit together and no seating assignments will be made the day of the trip. Cars are heated and/or air conditioned, depending upon the weather. May Board in Huntington or St. Albans. Seating is very similar to Coach Service. All of our 29 cars are different and privately owned by individuals around the country. Heritage Coach service does NOT INCLUDE any meals. Passengers may go to the Cafe Car on board the train to purchase food.

In that car, there are no assigned seats. You will pick your seats in the morning when you board the train. Seating is first come-first serve and you may not reserve seats.
