New River Train Disclaimers

Purchasing Tickets:

When you call our office to purchase tickets, your Credit Card will be charged the time you order. Your tickets and boarding information will be sent out in the beginning of October. If you wish to use a check, the check needs to be payable to the New River Train. You must FIRST call our office and make a reservation first. The Check will then need to be mailed ASAP, and must be in our hands no later than 5 business days after the reservation was made. If no check is received, the order will be canceled. Please do not spend more money overnighting the check, regular postage is suitable. Bounced checks will incur a $50 fee. NO EXCEPTIONS! Checks will NOT be accepted on any orders placed after September 1st.

Once on board the train, your ticket will be validated and the conductors copy will be collected. After the conductors copy is collected and/or the ticket is validated, there will be NO REFUNDS granted for any reason. There will be NO REFUNDS after the trip!

*Well behaved children are welcome to ride our train at full fare.

Cancellation Policy:

You may cancel your tickets up until September 1, 2017 by 4:00pm, however there is a 15% cancelation fee for any and all cancelations. After September 1st, there are no refunds granted for any reason. Upgrades and/or downgrades in services will incur a $5.00 per ticket charge. No transfers, upgrades, and/or downgrades after September 1, 2017

**It doesn't matter weather you process your order and want to canel 10 minutes later, the processing fee and cancelation fee still applies to ANY AND ALL tranactions**

Transfers:

If you purchase tickets for a New River Train Excursion, you may transfer your dates ONLY IF there are seats available for the date to which you want to transfer. All transfers are subject to a $5.00 per ticket charge. There will be NO tranfers to long distance excursions or to the following year's New River Train. There will be no transfers after September 1, 2017.

Seating:

Car assignments will be made in all classes of service. The seat you go to Hinton is also yours for the return trip. We will make every effort to seat groups together, however, we cannot guarantee any seating arrangements prior to the trips. If your party wishes to sit together, you must contact our office or let us know when you order that you have friends that purchased tikcets seporatly you wish to sit with. Also, you must all board the train at the same time, otherwise we cannot guarantee your party sitting together.

Some safety rules:

Our train is a SMOKING FREE train, which means, no where on the train, at all, is there a place to smoke. Once you board the train, the ONLY place you may get off to smoke, is in Hinton, WV at our turnaround point. Also, our train is Alcohol Free. Please do NOT consume any alcoholic beverages on the train. Please do NOT wear any high heal, or open toe shoes. The train moves at a good pace and high heal shoes may cause someone to loose their balance and open toe shoes are unsafe to where on the train due to gaps while walking between railroad cars. Safety is our number one concern.

Disclaimer:

**This trip will not be handicap accessible. Historic and antiquated rail passenger equipment, like that used on this excursion, is exempt from ADA regulations under U.S. Code: Title 42: Section 12184. The passenger cars and station facilities used on this excursion were constructed before disability accessibility laws were adopted. Platforms, boarding areas, stairs, step-stools, seating, and especially doorways, passageways, aisles, and on board restrooms may not accommodate all passengers. We will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate differently abled passengers who desire to ride this train.

We reserve the right to substitute equipment at any time with out prior notice.

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIRS OR SCOOTERS ONBOARD THE TRAIN!

The C.P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society and its representatives act only as agents for the passengers with respect to rail transportation, food service, and other services offered, and as such hold themselves free of any liability for any injury, delay, equipment failure, substitution of equipment, or damage from any cause whatsoever.

Railroad equipment may be substituted at anytime for some unforeseen reason. We are not responsible for tardiness of the train.

Any bags, coolers, or other such items are subject to be searched at anytime. Any coolers not meeting the proper criteria to carry onboard is subject to be left at the station.

The sponsoring organization is a non-profit 501©3 organization and is operating the train trip to help fund restoration of railroad equipment, maintain its museum, and associated railroad historical projects. No part of the cost is tax deductible.

 

Long Distance Trip Disclaimers

EX: Cherry Blossom, Big Apple, Big Cities, Greenbrier, Etc.

Purchasing Your Tickets:

When you call our office to purchase tickets, your Credit Card will be charged the day you order. If your trip has a required deposit, you may choose to pay in full, or just the deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is due 30 days before each trip. Your tickets and boarding information will be sent out two(2) weeks before the trip. If you wish to use a check, the check needs to be payable to CPHRRHS. You must first call our office and make a reservation first. The Check will then need to be mailed ASAP, and must be in our hands no later than 5 business days after the reservation was made. If no check is received, the order will be canceled. Please do not spend more money overnighting the check, regular postage is suitable. Bounced check will incur a $50 fee. NO EXCEPTIONS! Checks will NOT be accepted on any orders 10 days before the trip.

Cancellation Policy:

You may cancel your tickets up until 30 days prior to the trip, however you will lose your deposit. On the Greenbrier Overnight excurions where full payment is due at the time of order, there will be a fee of $200 per ticket for canceling. Excursions that have a deposit required, the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE for any reason. Please call our office to cancel at: 866-639-747 and please have your name, and which rail excursion you purchased ready so we can look up your information.

Seating:

Greenbrier Excursions: You will be assigned a seat on one of our privattly owned railroad ounge cars.

Long Distance Trips (New York or Washington, DC.): Car assignments will be made in one of our two lounge cars. There is no reserved seating! You will be assigned to a seat in one of our two railroad cars. After all passengers are boarded, including passengers boarding in Charleston, WV, passengers may change seats to their comfort. Assigned seating is to allow everyone in each party, to sit together.
